Captain Jimbo Thomas - Miami Offshore
Kingfish have Arrived!
The spring run of King Mackerel has finally started to take place. Fishing live pilchards in 120 feet of water from Government Cut south to Fowey Light has been producing limit catches of kings in the 10 - 30 pound range. Along with the excellent kingfish bite have been dolphin, sailfish, and cobia. The dolphin have been roaming the edge in the same depths as the kings and on out to 300 feet. Keep an eye out for working birds and floating debris. While the number of dolphin caught hasn't been great - their size has been in the 10 -20 pound range with an occasional larger fish. The sails and cobia have been frequenting the same waters as the kingfish. Live baits have been the most effective.
